The ImageAnnotateTool makes adding arrows or text to images on Commons easy.

Image annotation

1. Load the image you wish to edit using either the file name or the url

   What formats are supported?

   • JPEG (.jpg) [OK]
   • PNG (.png)?
   • SVG (.svg) [No]
   • video?

2. Edit to add arrows and text.
3. Login to MediaWiki
4. Overwrite or Upload to a new file on Commons

Is it possible to save a file locally?

Uploading images/videos

The tool also allows the upload of videos and images in various formats and it auto converts those formats to ones accepted by Commons.

• For video it supports: webm, mp4, mov, mkv, avi, m4v, mpg, mpeg, ogv
• For images it supports: jpg, jpeg, png, heic, heif, svg
