    Cheyney Court in the Cathedral Close, Winchester, Hampshire, UK

    Description

    In the grounds of Winchester Cathedral. Was just nice to have a look around the grounds. Many tourists here. Decided against going inside. Anyway I'd already been into the Great Hall of Winchester Castle, so didn't need to go into the cathedral.

    The Pilgrims' School is a preparatory school for some 200 boys aged 7 to 13, including the 22 Choristers of Winchester Cathedral and the 16 Quiristers (the Chapel choir boys) of Winchester College.

    Boarding and day pupils are admitted.

    There is also a pre-prep department.

    Grade I listed building.

   Adjoining south entrance gate to Close. C15 and C16. Close vall forms
   part of back of house. 2 and 3 storeys. Ground floor walls stone. Upper
   floors oversailing timber framed, with plaster infilling. 3 gabled front
   to Close. Old tile roof.

       All listed buildings in The Close form a group.
