Commons:Wiki Loves Bangla 2026/Team
Bangla WikiMoitree is an international network built around the Bengali language, culture, and heritage. It works to strengthen thematic and language-based coordination and collaboration among Bengali-speaking Wikimedia communities, affiliate organisations, and various informal groups. This community-driven initiative aims to bring Wikimedia volunteers together and encourage joint efforts among Bengali-speaking Wikimedians. Bangla WikiMoitree also focuses on strengthening relationships among Wikimedians, increasing knowledge exchange, and empowering contributors across the region. The journey of Bangla WikiMoitree began in 2023 as a joint initiative of Wikimedia Bangladesh and West Bengal Wikimedians User Group. The main goal of this initiative is to further strengthen the collective impact of the Wikimedia movement. Since 2024, Bangla WikiMoitree has been organising the Wiki for Love of Bangla competition. The main aim of this event is to encourage participation and contributions from Bengali-speaking Wikimedians worldwide, with a focus on Bengali culture and heritage.
