The Mourne Heritage Trust is aiming for a better natural environment where people feel valued, included and involved. If you’re looking for the same thing, you’re in the right place! This is your chance to become an Active Lifestyles volunteer in Mourne Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Active Lifestyles offers you the chance to make a real and visible difference to the wildlife and landscape of Mourne; learn new skills, meet like-minded people, discover the habitats and heritage of Mourne AONB, enjoy the outdoors and make the most of your time volunteering.
We offer volunteers a range of practical conservation opportunities, including: Wildlife surveys, stone-wall building, tree planting, invasive species control, beach-cleans, organic gardening, amongst others. Working alongside our experienced and well trained team, you will learn techniques that enhance your practical conservation skills and increase your knowledge about our natural heritage.
Our webpage shows you some of the things you or your group can get involved in; you’ll find people like you, working on the same things that you care about.
So, whether you have a skill you’d like to share, or wish to learn something new, get in touch and we’ll find a place for you or your group. All we ask in return is enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
