25 august 2015. Last day of the 2015 Youth Ranger Scheme. Time to go clean up a beach. We spent the morning on the beach, armed with litter pickers and bags and collected – – 9 bags of plastic bottles, 4 bags of tin cans, 5 litre drum of oil, 10 kg of scrap metal, 3 fish boxes and 2 plastic buckets all of which went for recycling to the Amenity Centre. We also collected another 16 bags of general waste. This was all on about one kilometre of beach. In the afternoon we went to the Annalong shoreline where Peter gave us a talk on zonation of the tidal zone. The day concluded with a presentation on the summer’s activities and the awarding of certificates to the Youth Rangers, including the John Muir Discovery Award.
